Cart 8 Marketplace - Delivery Policy
Last updated: 2 September 2026
1. Who we are and how delivery works
Cart 8 delivers ambient, chilled and frozen products from South Australian producers direct to your door. Orders from multiple producers are consolidated at our third party Woodville fulfilment centre and delivered as a single order by our refrigerated logistics partner, Fridge It Logistics. Chilled and frozen items are transported in refrigerated vehicles from our facility to your delivery address.
Cart 8 is your single point of contact for anything to do with your order and its delivery. Even though products come from multiple producers, you deal with us, not the individual producer for delivery issues, missing items, refunds and returns.
2. Delivery areas
We currently deliver across South Australia the Adelaide metropolitan area plus selected regional areas, reaching as far north as Nuriootpa, east to Murray Bridge, and south to the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Check your postcode on our Delivery Locations page before ordering it is the definitive source for whether we deliver to your address. If your address is outside our delivery area, we’re not able to fulfil your order.
We’re expanding. As demand grows, we expect to add further regional areas and increase frequency to existing areas.
3. Delivery fees and minimum spend
Minimum order values, delivery fees and free delivery thresholds are set out in our FAQ and are shown at checkout before you pay. Please refer to the FAQ for current pricing.
4. Delivery days, windows and cut off times
Delivery days: We deliver Tuesday to Friday. You can place an order any day of the week your order will simply be scheduled for the next available delivery day.
Lead time and cut off: To keep stock fresh from our producers and reduce waste, delivery is available from a set number of days after your order, depending on when you order and our current cut off time. Current lead times and order cut off times are set out in our FAQ and reflected in the delivery date shown to you at checkout.
Order tracking: You’ll receive an email confirming your order and setting out what happens next, and we’ll keep you updated as your order makes its way to you.
We don't deliver on public holidays. If your order is due on a public holiday, it will be delivered on the next regular delivery day (Tuesday to Friday).
Delivery times are estimates. Traffic, weather and other events outside our control can cause delays. We’ll keep you updated if your delivery is running significantly late.
5. Changing or cancelling your order
You can change or cancel your order up until 11:00 am two business days before your scheduled delivery date that is, the same cut off that determines your delivery day, by contacting us at admin@cart8.com.au, on 0468 818 883, or via our contact page. After this time your order has entered picking and packing and can no longer be changed or cancelled.
6. Out of stocks and substitutions
Because our producers are small local businesses, occasionally an item you’ve ordered isn’t available on the day.
If an item is unavailable, we’ll contact you before dispatch by phone, SMS or email to offer an alternative or a refund. We don’t substitute items without your agreement.
If we can’t reach you before your order is dispatched, we’ll refund the unavailable item to your original payment method and deliver the rest of your order. Where the unavailable item took your order below the free delivery threshold set out in our FAQ, we won’t retrospectively charge you a delivery fee.
7. How we deliver your order
We aim to deliver during business hours on weekdays, so most customers aren’t home when we arrive. Current delivery windows are set out in our FAQ. Unless you’re there to receive it, we’ll leave your order at your delivery address without a signature. By placing an order you authorise us to do this.
If you are home, our driver will simply hand the order over at your door.
Leaving your order
• Provide delivery instructions at checkout telling us where to leave your order (e.g. “front porch, left of door, in the shade” or “with concierge”). Clear instructions are the single best way to protect your order.
• If no instructions are provided, our driver will choose a location at the delivery address that is, in their reasonable judgement, safe, discreet and protected from weather and direct sun.
• Chilled and frozen items are packed in cardboard boxes with an insulated bag and ice packs designed to hold safe temperatures for a limited period after drop off, and less in hot weather. This packaging protects your order in transit and briefly at the door; it is not a substitute for refrigeration.
• We’ll notify you when your order has been delivered.
• You must collect your order as soon as possible after delivery and refrigerate or freeze perishable items immediately.
When we can’t leave your order
We won’t leave an order where our driver can’t access the delivery location, or where no safe and discreet spot exists. This includes secure apartment buildings, gated premises and addresses requiring access codes, unless your delivery instructions give us workable access (e.g. lobby code, concierge handoff).
If we can’t complete your delivery safely, we’ll attempt to contact you on the number provided. If we can’t reach you, the order will be returned to our facility, a redelivery fee may apply, and perishable items may need to be discarded and re-charged.
8. Hot weather
South Australian summers are hard on food. Most orders arrive before the worst of the day’s heat, but an order left in the sun will still deteriorate quickly.
On days of extreme heat we strongly recommend being home to receive your order, or making arrangements to have it collected promptly. We may adjust delivery windows, or contact you about alternative arrangements, during extreme weather events.
9. Risk, title and responsibility
Risk in and title to the products passes to you upon delivery to your delivery address, including where the order is left without a signature in accordance with this policy or your delivery instructions. Once the order is left as instructed, loss, theft, interference (including by animals) and deterioration caused by delayed collection are your responsibility.
Cart 8 remains responsible for the condition of your order up to the point of delivery. If a product arrives spoiled, damaged, leaking, thawed beyond safe limits, past its use by date, missing, or otherwise not of acceptable quality at the time it was delivered, that is our responsibility, see section 10.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantees of acceptable quality and fitness for purpose.
10. Missing, damaged or faulty items
If your order arrives damaged, is missing items, or contains the wrong products, contact us within 48 hours of delivery on 0468 818 883, or via our contact page.
Photos of the item and its packaging help us resolve claims quickly.
We’ll respond as soon as we can. Where a claim is accepted, we’ll contact you to organise a refund or replacement. Refunds are made to your original payment method.
Claims for perishable spoilage may be declined where the order was left uncollected for an extended period, or where spoilage results from delayed collection rather than the condition at delivery.
Given the perishable nature of our products, we don’t accept change of mind returns on food items. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law for faulty or unacceptable goods are unaffected.
11. Packaging
Your cardboard boxes, insulated bags and ice packs are yours to keep, reuse or dispose of as you like. If you're reordering, you may leave your boxes and packaging outside and we can pick them up when delivering your order.
We’re working on a swap system that will let you return packaging to us on a future delivery. We’ll let you know before it starts, and this policy will be updated at that time.
12. Your details and our contact attempts
You’re responsible for providing an accurate delivery address, workable delivery instructions, and a phone number we can reach you on during your delivery window. Cart 8 is not liable for failed or misdelivered orders resulting from incorrect details supplied by you.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published at cart8.com.au at the time you place your order applies to that order.
