Our story

For generations, Myponga, on the foothills of the Fleurieu Peninsula, has been known as a proud dairy farming community. By the late 20th century, dozens of family-run dairies supported the region, supplying fresh milk and sustaining local livelihoods.

As industry pressures intensified in the early 2000s, rising costs and falling farm-gate prices forced many Australian dairies to close, and Myponga was no exception. Determined to protect farms that had been in their families for generations, several local farming families chose a different path.

In 2004, they set out to bottle and sell their own milk, the full-cream, quality milk they knew wasn’t reaching supermarket shelves. From this belief in “real milk, how it used to taste,” the Fleurieu Milk Company was born.

Today, drawing on both Jersey and Friesian herds, Fleurieu Milk bottles a range of fresh milks from farm to bottle, produced on-site in Myponga, preserving a regional dairy tradition and bringing authentic local milk to South Australian tables.
